Chair Love

The Pineapple Girls are big fans of texture. Think rattan, wicker, seagrass…we love it all! Introducing one of our favorite new additions to the store and website…honey-hued wicker in a dramatic silhouette. The handwoven Dunley Lounge Chair is a bold spin on traditional barrel chairs, exaggerating the arms and chair curvature. Peeled rattan softens the look and gives it a casual vibe.

This chair is so comfortable! One of the things we really love about this chair is that it can be used either indoors or outdoors.

Rattan, seagrass, jute, wicker…we love it all! Woven furniture, lighting fixtures and accessories are in and we think this trend is going to stick around for awhile.

The organic look of these woven pieces really works well for modern coastal decor.  We love using organic, natural elements in our homes.  Woven, textured furniture and accessories make great accent pieces. The neutral colors work well with crisp whites, and you can add pops of color with pillows or upholstery.

How To Choose A Table Lamp

Table Lamps provide more than just light. They add an element of design and complete the style you are trying to achieve. Sometimes, we buy table lamps simply for the design aspect, but most often, we need lamps to provide function as well as style. Choosing the right lamp for your needs can be intimidating. Below are a few tips to help you make the right selection.

PURPOSE.

What type of lighting do you need for a particular space? Are you looking for a lamp that provides adequate lighting for reading, or simply create a beautiful ambiance for the room?

SIZE.

The height should be chosen depending on where the lamp is placed. For example, tall lamps look great on entry consoles or in large rooms with high ceilings. On side tables, make sure when seated you can’t see the inside of the fixture under the shade. Shorter lamps are ideal for desks and task lighting. Your shade should not extend beyond the table, console or dresser.

PLACEMENT.

If your furniture is floating and not against a wall, you will need to have floor outlets in the room. Also, consider the height and overall size of the accessories on the same table, console or dresser. You should use accessories with varying heights to create interest.

STYLE.

Think about the look you are trying to achieve. Lamps should compliment the existing style of the space, but also add a great design element. It’s fun to play with colorful shades. Navy looks great in a nautical inspired space. Clean white linen can blend in any decor.

Chair Obsessed

We are obsessed with these Aurora Dining Chairs. What makes them truly special is that they can be used indoors or outdoors! The chair has a metal base and synthetic rattan, aged to look realistic. The teak legs give a nice, organic look and the Sunbrella cushions are comfortable and practical! We added, comfort, color and style with this periwinkle and white pillow by John Robshaw.

The Lacquer Barrel Back Chairs (above) by World’s Away are crisp and modern. We love the white linen seat cushions, and sometimes recover in a fun fabric! The chairs are available in white, navy and green lacquer. We thought our Pink Hutch Pillows we a fun and playful addition. The White Hand Etched Vases are a great accent.
