Life On The Coast

In Florida, the beach is never truely far, especially when today’s home decor often integrates that classic coastal lifestyle we live and breathe down here in Jupiter. We make sure to carry a bit of home in all of our pieces.

Breakers Palm Beach Tray by Gray Malin

World renown photographer Gray Malin’s work is once again on our favorites list; These trays forge Gray’s most iconic images with exceptional product design. Whether you are using this to serve your guests at your next cocktail party or simply as a decorative piece, it will become a beautiful centerpiece of your home that naturally absorbs light, making the imagery glow almost magically.

Bring life to your modern coastal home with this Bubblegum Beach print! The happy palette and hand embellished texture will add a touch of whimsy to your decor.

We are loving this Rattan trend! Putting these timeless pieces paired with white accents makes is a great option to achieve that modern coastal home vibe. Here’s some of our favorites:

The Palecek Ventura Swivel Lounge Chair is crafted with a metal swivel base and hardwood frame with double wall back allowing you to spin 360 degrees. The sides are hand-wrapped natural lampakanai rope.

The Rattan Sideboard is a classic coastal inspired buffet made from hand painted white mahogany and framed with natural rattan. It offers plenty of storage, with four equally sized drawers and two cabinet doors with interior shelving.

The Fabian Mirror is created by hand; voluptuous loops of natural rattan, corralled by a wide row of thick rattan braids, encircle a round mirror.

The Palecek Malawi Occasional Chair is comfortable, stylish and features intricately woven pencil pole rattan with a pole rattan frame. The classic and crisp occasional chair includes a loose upholstered seat cushion.

The Tilly Table Lamp is a fresh accent piece that works well with a variety of decor styles, from coastal to traditional. It features a vibrant, glossy finish on the base and a crisp white linen drum shade to complete the modern and coastal look.

The Meri Bowl Chandelier is a gorgeous 4-light fixture that features a pierced, frost-white resin frame making you think of coral and shells for a refined yet relaxed, coastal vibe. Swipe to see this phenominal piece where it belongs: in a fabulous home like yours.

Pillow Party

John Robshaw is one of our favorite designers. While traveling in India, Robshaw fell in love with the fabric-making traditions of the local artisans. The hands-on immediacy and vitality of textiles piqued what was to become a lifelong fascination.

Robshaw’s forays in Asia have taken him all over the world. In  India, John found that he could apply a painterly aesthetic to traditional methods by mixing up patterns and overlapping them in a more formally artistic way. His signature look was crafted: an updated spin on the exotic, handmade object; a vibrant mix of sophistication and romantic allure.

Check out our great selection of new arrival John Robshaw pillows! Hand printed, hand stitched and great designs, these pillows will be sure to freshen up any room in your home.

Highlights From 2017

Thanks to our loyal customers at Pineapples, Palms, Etc.,  2017 was truly a great year for us! We were honored to be featured in many publications, including a Nationwide 10-page feature in Traditional Home magazine, highlighting our design work and products. Blue and White was strong in 2017, and we still love the classic combination! Our coordinates glasses were one of our best selling gifts of the year. E-Design services were very popular, and we made many new friends from around the country, and were honored they trusted us to help them create their dream homes from a distance.

Traditional Home Magazine Feature

Coordinates Glasses

Coordinates Glasses were definitely one of our hottest gifts of 2017! Our popular stemless wines are now available in Riedel crystal. In addition, we offer On the Rocks and Beer Pilsner glasses which can be customized with the exact coordinates of a home, boat or favorite vacation spot! Perfect for a wedding gift, housewarming or any special occasion.

Blue + White

The Pineapple Girls love every shade of blue, but this crisp navy and white bedroom, created by our design team, was one of our most popular photos on social media last year.

E-Design

2017 was a busy year for our e-design services! We have been working with clients all over the country by choosing art for their homes, accessorizing their shelves and tables, selecting perfect furniture, space planning and more. While it may sound difficult to design virtually, it is actually a fun and effective way to work with us. We just need a little information about you to begin the process of creating your dream home.

Happy New Year from The Pineapple Girls!

Stool Roundup: Fresh Ways To Add Extra Seating To Your Home

It’s the holiday season. A time to gather with family and friends. We love stools and poufs for extra seating when entertaining guests. These are so easy to tuck under a console or pull up to a coffee table. They also work well as side tables that do not take up much space. Add a decorative and practical element to any room!

How To Create A Navy + White Bedroom

Navy and white is the perfect classic color combination for a modern coastal bedroom. The Pineapple Girls design team recently created this bedroom for a family beach house in Jupiter, Florida. We love the crisp look of this space!

As you know, the Pineapple Girls love blue and white. But there are so many shades of blue! This room is all about focusing on navy, and we love the look.

We started by adding shiplap to the walls and painting it a bright white. Shiplap is so current, and an easy way to add texture and visual interest to a space.

We found this beautiful navy and white fabric  to create a custom, upholstered headboard. If you are going to choose a bold fabric, make sure it is something you really love! We adore this fabric by Quadrille.

Adding a bit of metal breaks up all of the navy and white. The lamps add a metal element, as well as the side tables. These lamps have been very popular in our store..the navy part is actually leather!

A chevron navy and white striped rug adds contrast to the wood floors, and two velvet ottomans with lucite bases make a perfect bench at the foot of the bed.

We would love to see your navy and white spaces! Post them on social media and use the hashtag #PineappleGirls.

Outdoor Living

Summer makes us think of dining al fresco, relaxing at the beach and enjoying margaritas on the deck with good friends.

The Pineapple Girls love to work hard and play hard too. In the summer months, you will find us enjoying fun weekends with family, by the ocean or in our own backyards.

Here are a few of our must-have pieces for outdoor living in the summer:

GOVINO SHATTERPROOF GLASSES

Our exclusive pineapple logo shatterproof wine glasses are perfect for summer fun activities, on the boat, parks, picnics, or on the patio.   The glasses are shatterproof, reusable, recyclable and have an indentation for your thumb, making them easy to hold. Cheers!

SLIPCOVERED FURNITURE

When designing your outdoor space, think of it like an indoor living room. There are so many great options now like weather resistant Sunbrella fabrics that not only repeal water and stains, but can be easily wiped off.  Indoor/Outdoor  rugs and pillows, look great, but also resist stains and water!

LANTERNS

Lighting your outdoor space is important as the sun sets and we love lanterns! They definitely add ambiance and a bit of magic to a fun summer evening.  We suggest Marine Grade Stainless Steel Lanterns when possible, but if you don’t have them, just move your lanterns inside when not entertaining.

STYLE

Just because your are outdoors, doesn’t mean you can’t add a lot of style to your furniture and accessories. We love the dramatic Elizabethan shape of this chair- perfect for making an outdoor statement,  thanks to material that can withstand the elements. This chair is also available in a dining chair!

THROWBED

We have talked about our love for throwbeds before. These down and fiber filled cushions are completely portable and very versatile. You can roll it up, toss it in the jeep and head to the beach. Also great for kids to “throw down” for a quick nap or a sleepover.

How To Create Extra Seating In Your Home

When planning the look of your space, remember that stylish decor elements in your home can also be functional. We love stools and ottomans tucked away for extra seating when guests come over.  In the photo below, a pair of ottomans opposite the coffee table adds a bit of fun, while maintaining casual elegance in the space.

Living Room Design by Pineapples, Palms, Etc. Design Team

These cute stools can be placed next to a sofa or occasional chair as a perfect spot to place a drink or magazine.  Under a console, they add a decorative element and you can easily slide them out to add a few extra seats to your living room.

stoolsPoufs are trending right now, and the Pineapple Girls love them.  They are soft and plush, and can be customized with a variety of fabrics.

Stools, poufs and ottomans can also be used in the bathroom…they are the perfect seating for a vanity.  We love these Lee Industries ottomans with nailhead trim.

Here are a few of our favorite pieces to add extra seating to your home…

How To Style A Console

One of our favorite pieces of furniture is the console.  It’s functional, versatile, and fun to style! Consoles are traditionally used in entryways, but work well in many other spaces. We love them in family rooms (under a mounted tv), behind sofas, in dining rooms, playrooms and even bedrooms.

console

The first thing to consider when choosing a console is the style you are going for in the space. Think about whether you want something modern, coastal or transitional. The Pineapple Girls have many favorites, from Coastal Fresh to Modern Organic …a console made of natural materials is truly something special.

inspire3

There are a wide variety of styles and finishes for consoles. Some have shelves or drawers for storage, and others are open underneath, leaving the perfect spot for poufs or ottomans that can be pulled out for extra seating.   Consoles are made with many different materials, such as wood, lacquer, reclaimed wood, textured lacquer,  or metal and glass.

To style a console, first think about what will go on the wall above it.  Some great art or a mirror works well here.  Don’t hang the piece too high.  It should be hung 4″-6″ above the console.

Next, add a great pair of matching table lamps on either side.  There are so many great options for lighting today, so try going out of your comfort zone and choose some fun lamps that will make a statement in the room.

Between the lamps, you can add a low bowl, picture frames, a decorative box or a sculpture. Choose smaller items that scale with the lamps.  When choosing your decorative objects, keep it simple and classic.  You don’t want the console to be overly cluttered.

A few final tips: think about balance and symmetry when styling your console. Experiment with a few different looks and don’t be afraid to switch it up when you are ready for a change.
