Whether you are celebrating with your sweetheart or enjoying “Gal-entines” cocktails with your girlfriends, we hope you have a wonderful holiday!
Thanks to our loyal customers at Pineapples, Palms, Etc., 2017 was truly a great year for us! We were honored to be featured in many publications, including a Nationwide 10-page feature in Traditional Home magazine, highlighting our design work and products. Blue and White was strong in 2017, and we still love the classic combination! Our coordinates glasses were one of our best selling gifts of the year. E-Design services were very popular, and we made many new friends from around the country, and were honored they trusted us to help them create their dream homes from a distance.
The Pineapple Girls love every shade of blue, but this crisp navy and white bedroom, created by our design team, was one of our most popular photos on social media last year.
2017 was a busy year for our e-design services! We have been working with clients all over the country by choosing art for their homes, accessorizing their shelves and tables, selecting perfect furniture, space planning and more. While it may sound difficult to design virtually, it is actually a fun and effective way to work with us. We just need a little information about you to begin the process of creating your dream home.
Navy and white is the perfect classic color combination for a modern coastal bedroom. The Pineapple Girls design team recently created this bedroom for a family beach house in Jupiter, Florida. We love the crisp look of this space!
As you know, the Pineapple Girls love blue and white. But there are so many shades of blue! This room is all about focusing on navy, and we love the look.
We started by adding shiplap to the walls and painting it a bright white. Shiplap is so current, and an easy way to add texture and visual interest to a space.
We found this beautiful navy and white fabric to create a custom, upholstered headboard. If you are going to choose a bold fabric, make sure it is something you really love! We adore this fabric by Quadrille.
Adding a bit of metal breaks up all of the navy and white. The lamps add a metal element, as well as the side tables. These lamps have been very popular in our store..the navy part is actually leather!
A chevron navy and white striped rug adds contrast to the wood floors, and two velvet ottomans with lucite bases make a perfect bench at the foot of the bed.
We would love to see your navy and white spaces! Post them on social media and use the hashtag #PineappleGirls.
Blue and white will always be classic yet current, and it’s one of the Pineapple Girl’s favorite color combos. It’s perfect for an ocean inspired room. In the photo below, the touches of gold add a modern vibe and keep the look current. A little bling is never a bad thing, right?
Using the white slipcovered sofas and white shiplap walls as our canvas, we added complimentary blues in a variety of patterns and textures. The pops of gold really make the room! The key is to add just enough gold to make a statement…don’t go overboard.

When planning the look of your space, remember that stylish decor elements in your home can also be functional. We love stools and ottomans tucked away for extra seating when guests come over. In the photo below, a pair of ottomans opposite the coffee table adds a bit of fun, while maintaining casual elegance in the space.
These cute stools can be placed next to a sofa or occasional chair as a perfect spot to place a drink or magazine. Under a console, they add a decorative element and you can easily slide them out to add a few extra seats to your living room.
Stools, poufs and ottomans can also be used in the bathroom…they are the perfect seating for a vanity. We love these Lee Industries ottomans with nailhead trim.
Here are a few of our favorite pieces to add extra seating to your home…
When choosing decor for a space, fabric is a key element. It’s important to find the right combination for your drapery, furniture and pillows. Many people are intimidated by the different options and unsure how to coordinate different patterns together. We think choosing fabric should be a fun experience! Once you know a few tricks, you can mix and match like a pro.
First, choose your color palette. If it’s blues, multiple tones are a great choice, this gives you more options when selecting accessories.
Typically you fall in love with a pattern within your palette, which is usually bold and becomes your “lead” fabric, from there you can choose less prominent coordinating patterns to pull it all together.
Stripes are always a good choice for your 2nd fabric, as they blend well with ikats, large patterns, small patterns, or just about everything.
The third fabric could be a solid. If you use a pattern on your throw pillows, you might want a solid on your drapes. If your sofa is solid, the throw pillows are a great place to add some patterns.
A good rule to remember is the rule of three. More than three colors or patterns in a room can look busy.
A white, slipcovered sofa is a great canvas for adding patterned throw pillows in colorful fabrics.
All the furniture lines we carry in our store offer the option to choose custom fabric, so you can be as creative and unique as you like. Have fun mixing and matching! If you need help, check out our new e-design service.
One of our favorite pieces of furniture is the console. It’s functional, versatile, and fun to style! Consoles are traditionally used in entryways, but work well in many other spaces. We love them in family rooms (under a mounted tv), behind sofas, in dining rooms, playrooms and even bedrooms.
The first thing to consider when choosing a console is the style you are going for in the space. Think about whether you want something modern, coastal or transitional. The Pineapple Girls have many favorites, from Coastal Fresh to Modern Organic …a console made of natural materials is truly something special.
There are a wide variety of styles and finishes for consoles. Some have shelves or drawers for storage, and others are open underneath, leaving the perfect spot for poufs or ottomans that can be pulled out for extra seating. Consoles are made with many different materials, such as wood, lacquer, reclaimed wood, textured lacquer, or metal and glass.
To style a console, first think about what will go on the wall above it. Some great art or a mirror works well here. Don’t hang the piece too high. It should be hung 4″-6″ above the console.
Next, add a great pair of matching table lamps on either side. There are so many great options for lighting today, so try going out of your comfort zone and choose some fun lamps that will make a statement in the room.
Between the lamps, you can add a low bowl, picture frames, a decorative box or a sculpture. Choose smaller items that scale with the lamps. When choosing your decorative objects, keep it simple and classic. You don’t want the console to be overly cluttered.
A few final tips: think about balance and symmetry when styling your console. Experiment with a few different looks and don’t be afraid to switch it up when you are ready for a change.

Our team at Pineapples, Palms recently designed this beautiful coastal riverfront home in Jupiter, Florida. The client was looking for a sophisticated, clean modern space.
The fresh color palette is white with sea glass and gray accents, which is carried throughout the entire home. The living room decor includes Lee Industries upholstered furniture and AERIN table lamps. The clear, lucite coffee table makes the space feel open and doesn’t distract from the elegant fireplace.
This cozy dining nook features Ralph Lauren Home lighting. Custom stained built-ins with white pottery adds a modern contrast.
We chose oversized loungers by Lee Industries, perfect for reading and relaxing in this sophisticated master suite.
The powder room features China Seas wallpaper, which can be custom colored to match the decor of your space. The sleek nickel vanity with Calacutta marble top and open shelving creates an airy feel in a small room.
We partnered with Sebastian Smallegange of Turtle Beach Construction to create this captivating space with intricate ceiling detail and ship lap walls . A custom designed barn-style door features thick glass and chunky nickel hardware on a sliding track. Using glass allowed for unobscured view of the river. The sea glass accents add soft and soothing color. We placed our popular Brahms Mount cotton throws throughout the home.
This driftwood and glass coffee table is one-of-a-kind. It is hand crafted and can be made in any size and multiple finishes. The Pineapple Girls love the current trend of organic mix of driftwood with modern decor, and this is one of our most popular pieces.
The brown and white color combination in the living room adds variety and compliments the overall palette of the home.
